My name is U Nyunt Swe, and I am 69 years old. I am currently retired and living in Mandalay Myothit with my wife and our two children. Two years ago, I came to know Jesus Christ and accepted Him as my Lord and Saviour—a decision that has brought great meaning and strength to my life.
On March 28, a powerful earthquake struck our region, bringing great hardship to my family. Our house suffered severe cracks and was nearly destroyed. It became too dangerous to stay inside, so we built a temporary tent outside and have been living there ever since.
Being retired, I receive only 40,000 Kyats a month from the government. My two children do not have steady jobs or income. The earthquake made things worse by disrupting local employment, and now we are left with no regular source of income. These are very difficult times for us. As the head of the household, I carry the weight of worrying about how we will survive each day, especially with no funds to repair our damaged home or even buy daily necessities.
In the midst of this struggle, GraceWorks arrived not long after the earthquake. They provided us with food supplies—rice and other essentials—which was a tremendous help. I am also deeply grateful to have met the country director of GraceWorks Myanmar, who supported us with some money to buy urgent supplies. His kindness touched our hearts.
Through God's grace, we have received timely help and support in this dark season. Though the future is uncertain, we place our trust in the Lord, believing He will continue to guide and provide for us. We are praying for better days ahead and the opportunity to rebuild our home and our lives with His help.
