My name is Sanda Marlar, and I live in the Sagaing Region. I want to express my deep gratitude to the GraceWorks Myanmar team for the support you gave us during one of the most difficult times in our lives.
On March 28, a powerful earthquake struck our monastery. The impact was devastating. Many trees fell, buildings were damaged, and access to the outside world became nearly impossible. Our head nun was seriously injured and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. As Buddhist nuns, we live a simple and peaceful life, but the disaster left us shaken, isolated, and in urgent need of help.
In the midst of our fear and uncertainty, your GraceWorks Myanmar team arrived from Yangon. You brought rice, medicine, and other essential supplies. Your presence and the aid you provided truly made a difference—it helped us survive. Your kindness brought comfort and strength to our hearts when we needed it most. We felt seen, supported, and less alone in that moment.
What touched us even more was the way your team treated us—with respect, compassion, and without judgment. You did not look at our religion or background, but simply came to help fellow human beings in need. Your personal visit and the donations you brought meant so much to us.
On behalf of all the nuns here, I sincerely thank you for your generosity. Your actions have left a lasting impression on us, and we will always remember the kindness and care GraceWorks Myanmar showed during such a difficult time.
With heartfelt thanks,Sanda Marlar, Sagaing Region
