Graceworks provides medical assistance in Myanmar via two avenues.
Firstly, Graceworks provides a hospital in Yangon with funds for patient meals. Traditionally, providing food for patients has been the responsibility of the patient's family or friends, however due to the current economic crisis in Myanmar, it has been very difficult for family members to feed and care for their sick. This has resulted in many patients barely having a single meal per day.
Additionally, Graceworks team members regularly visit a hospital in Yangon in an effort to provide patients with companionship and conversation.
Graceworks also works closely with Asia Heartbeat USA, an aid agency that has been working in Myanmar for over 15 years.
Asia Heartbeat has qualified doctors, nurses, dentists and pediatricians who are permanently based and employed in Myanmar. Graceworks often has the opportunity to support Asia Heartbeat's medical teams when they embark on field trips or visit orphanages.
