Yangon Fashion Centre

Formerly called 'Dorcas Sewing Centre', this Graceworks micro-enterprise program is aimed at educating young girls in the art and skill of dressmaking.

Commencing operations in a small, run down, outer suburban building, Yangon Fashion Centre has grown and is now happily situated in the city. Its growing success has meant that Yangon Fashion Centre consistently manufactures 'clothes to order' as well as the standard uniform used in schools throughout Myanmar.

Furthermore, sewing and dressmaking classes are conducted for the general public, and are well attended by fee paying students.

Now able to afford the rent and provide some income for the employees, Yangon Fashion Centre has achieved the 'self sufficiency' that Graceworks strives to promote in all of their programs.

A small donation of $120 can pay for additional sewing machines which not only provide employment, they also provide a valuable skill, ongoing income, and a brighter future.
